Writing #2

I have a bad feeling about this.
Stealing,
this is stealing.
I'm taking what isn't mine.
Running,
glancing, shoving.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
How'd I get myself into this?
It trails me.
Ash beneath my feet.
Plead upwards.
It's foolish, I'm not even listening.
Slow down.
Walk.
Act normal.
Glass turns yellow to purple.
Normal people sleep.
They also live responsibly,
with pride
and duty.
I steal my character.
Dark corners,
geometric shapes jut out,
inwards,
into.
Eyes out of beards,
I'm being stared at
like a car crash.
Is it really that obvious?
The corner splits the world.
Former to current,
you can be whoever you want.
I walk,
leather,
one in front of the other.
There's no need to run,
it's on your heels no matter what.
Smoke drifts
but fate doesn't.
So smoke your lungs out,
and hope things change.

Inspiration #1: if the solution isn't beautiful, then you know it's wrong

I've been thinking recently and I think I'm going to start making posts about what inspires my artwork alongside my work. Mostly it'll be me posting music and some artists and websites. If ya'lls diggin it, let me know.

For the first one I'm gonna make a list of artists that I'm feeling right now, classics and things I've just found, mostly hip hop. Enjoy.

Writing #1

Venture up with eyes closed, steady breath: hold.
Lights struggling through the nights cold
gasping in the depths of tree top ghosts.

Thickness surrounds, overbearing in it's grasp
Quickening visions of white flags pass.
Claustrophobia. Feeling desperate, touching it, but separate.

Heart beats. Offbeat? Cardiac arrhythmia.
This isn't even happening, unconvincingly I'm tellin' her.
Pulsing drums grow louder. Volume overpowers.

Suddenly- light.
Outshine the north star, damn that's bright.
but brighter still, brilliant even, overshadowing the star that illuminates my world.

It's all there. Naked, eloquent, and truthful.
Quit lying to yourself. Don't be a fool! You don't see this?
Envelopes, develops. I need to pick nits. Nit pick? Get serious.

Eyes open. All things dark below.
Left alone surprised. A lonesome fellow.
Sudden displacement of reality. Disappearance of what I knew.

Unbelievable, I can't believe it.
Dumbfounded, painfully deceived.
A total replacement of what I had once believed.

Trying something new. I don't write at all, but recently have become inspired by a friend to test the waters. It was a new, interesting feeling. I dig it.
